Climate Group HACS Integration, "hvac_action" always idle

Morning folks,

Just wondering if anyone is using the climate group HACS integration successfully (GitHub - bjrnptrsn/climate_group: Home Assistant Climate Group)?

It was last winter, but now I have come to need the heating again, things aren’t working as they were.

I found that the “hvac_action” of a created group is always “idle”, so automations can’t fire based on this.

I wanted to log an issue, but this appears to be disabled on the repo. Not sure if @bjrnptrsn frequents here at all.

I tried going back a number of versions, but behaviour seems the same.

Concerned I’m just loosing my mind and it never worked like I recall it doing! Based on the automations I made 12 months ago, I think I’m right at least!

The state of the group does change to “heat” at least, but not something I can use.

hvac_action is “cooling” or “heating”, never “idle”.
Are you talking about hvac_mode?

hmm, this is what I’m seeing, same for radiators and the groups setup with this integration. So deffo showing as “idle”

Radiators will change to “heating”, but the groups do not

Check the climate devices in that group. Maybe some behave out of spec.

Everything looks normal, the devices in the group are all identical also
