For some air conditioners, power and mode are independent, people can control the power without changing the mode.
But Home Assistant climate mix the power state with mode “off”, I cannot add an independent power button, can we do some optimization?
I tried to add “power_command_topic” and “power_state_topic”, but it didn’t work.
The climate platform provides the climate.turn_off and climate.turn_on services, however not all integrations support it.
Which integration are you using?
I’m using climate with MQTT, configured with yaml.
I saw the climate.turn_off and climate.turn_on services in the developer tool, but no power buttons in the default thermostat lovelace.
