Clipsal Wiser in Australia. Can it be integrated into HA?

This PR has been merged and was released as part of 2025.8 and I can confirm that it works perfectly with the Wiser 2AX switches. Thanks again to @uvnikita.

Don’t know if anyone ever answered this but I worked through this with the Electrician and the Clipsal rep.

You need to change to Bluetooth mode and then update the device firmware via the app. One extra step for the fan controller is the you need to do the firmware update step before adding the capacitor, so you need the electrician on hand.

After updating the firmware you need to switch back to zigbee mode and then reconnect to your coordinator.

Hi there,

Did you manage to get the SESpecific cluster, se_switch_indication attribute setting to your switches?

I followed what you have done on this thread and have my switches in HA as switches and not lights, but I am looking to get the indicator light working ( * SESwitchIndication.FollowsLoad).

Yes, I did. You need to go the device page, than Manage Device and pick the correct cluster and update it as per the options listed above.

If the manufacturer cluster isn’t there, try removing the device from ZHA and re-adding it.

Thanks for your reply. I tried removing and re-adding the switch from ZHA, restarting HA, but I still do not have the SESpecific Cluster option under my device.

Your device signature might not match the ZHA quirk. Are you in NZ using Pendal branded switches?

Schneider Electric, Wiser Iconic 10AX switches, in NZ.

I found one of your other comments (Clipsal Wiser in Australia. Can it be integrated into HA? - #75 by Orange-GT3) that linked to the ZHA Toolkit. I followed that and have set it manually.

Thanks for your help. Next steps will be figuring out the quirk settings so I don’t have to do it manually.

All I can think is that the device signature is different, so you would have to raise an issue on Github like I did here: https://community.home-assistant.io/t/clipsal-wiser-in-australia-can-it-be-integrated-into-ha/480148/104?u=orange-gt3.

Thank you, really appreciate your replies and assistance. I will head down that path.

Anyone using ZHA and got the LED control working

it shows in z2mqtt and you can control it like this

I use ZHA and just hoping to get this part working there too

Go to the device and ‘Manage device’ and then set this cluster:

The valid values are:

  • 0 = backlight is on when load is on;
  • 1 = backlight is always on,;
  • 2 = backlight is on when load is off; and
  • 3 = backlight is always off.

Oh neat, Thank you

Those using ZHA - How is it, lots of reading say its not stable?

I run approx. 40 devices so far

I got the SMLight SLZB-06 coordinator.

You’re welcome. Hopefully, we’ll get that setting in the UI at some point.

Works perfectly here with 78 devices using an SLZB-06Mg26. I do have an awful lot of routers (44) though which makes for a very stable network.
