Closing the roller shutter when wind speed is high

Hello there,

has anyone already a solution for an autiomation that closes the roller shutter (i hope this is the correct english term) when wind speed is high or forecast is high windspeed.

I have the Netatmo windmeter installed and i have the met.no integration.

First i tried to get the netatmo to tell me the wind speed, but it seems it only tells me the average of the last 10 mins, which i dont think is enough to be sure no damage will occur.

with the met.no i made an automation that sends a telegram message which is triggered like:

trigger: numeric_state
entity_id:
  - weather.forecast_home
attribute: wind_speed
above: 30

But i dont know for which time period this weather.forecast_home is.

Is there something i could do, to accurately close the roller shutter?
And know when the situation is ok to reopen them again?

Has anyone made such an automation?

I am happy if i could get help here.
Greetings

The answer to “But i dont know for which time period this weather.forecast_home is.” is every time you run it (in an automation). The question is how often the Met.no updates its data is another. I’d guess the minutely, though I don’t know what, if anything, you might have to pay for more frequent polling. I tried poking around the Met.no site with Google translate without success in the time I was giving it, but Google may be your friend. You might try to see if OpenWeatherMap has fairly good information for your area. They update every minute or so; you have to be careful how often you poll. I generally find that once an hour is enough; you might want more often. I think the free limit is 1000/day.
