Do Tuya compatible devices need a cloud credential to integrate with Home Assistant?

Never mind! I tried to add Tuya integration and the first screen is asking for account and password. I will not get burned again with the sudden death of insteon.
In that case I advice against Tuya cloud.
Yes, I will stay away from purchasing throw away devices which require cloud credential to configure and operate them.
