Community Icons Not Showing

I’m not sure if this is an issue with my own setup or with Home-Assistant and MaterialDesignIcons.com as a whole but when I assign a device an icon from the community (orange border around the icon on the website) it doesn’t seem to load anything. I’m just left with a blank space where the icon would be.

Some examples of non-working icons:

mdi:kodi
mdi:tshirt-crew

Does anyone have any community icons working properly or do we need to stick to the Google provided ones?

Thanks

Hi Bob,

I have currently the same problem but no solution yet.

Cheers
Heiko

I try to update the icons before every release but sometimes forget. So next release should probably work.

Can we update these ourselves, manually? I’m having the same issue with icons from Google too.

Could you please update icons for the upcoming 0.37.1 because some icons don’t work (e.g. network).

Any new information on that?

This is not possible on an end user level. We’ll have to wait until @balloob updates the icons. You might want to create an issue request for this on Github, which is the preferred avenue.

The icons have been updated before the release of 0.37 and the network icon works just fine. Just make sure that, as always, you prefix it with mdi: mdi:network

I still notice some icons do not appear (not sure since when).

Examples:

  • television-classic
  • home-automation

Could you please update the icons again before the next release?

It would be great if there was a way for us to update it ourselves, but maybe too complicated and/or not worth the effort.

Thanks in advance.

If you check here: https://materialdesignicons.com/history
you can see when a particular icon was added.
The home-automation and classic-television icons are very recent (from within one week) and are most likely not in HA repo yet.

Didn’t know I could check that history. Cool.

Let’s wait for the next HA release and hopefully these icons will already be packed in.

Thanks a lot.
