Companion app always triggers Sensitive Permission dot (green dot top right)

When I turn on location tracking in the companion app, it will always show the sensitive permissions dot in the top right of my screen.
Can the companion app somehow make the access to location permissions less instead of constant?
I am not sure if it is because the permissions for the app are set to Always and Exact location. Setting that to When in use, or disabling background location sensor, the dot goes away after few seconds.

That green dot is your phone’s OS that sets it.
It is set when an app use location tracking.
When the green dot goes away, then your location is not trackes anymore and therefore not updated in HA either.

Yes, but then you’d lose person tracking unless you keep the HA app constantly open and running in the foreground. It defeats the entire point of tracking.

I understand all what’s said. But why does it need it constantly? The Home app has the same setting, and isn’t constantly asking for location.
So the green dot goes away after a second, with Home Assistant it’s constantly there, which is really annoying :frowning:

I’m on Android 15 (Poco).
