There are several issues related to this:
It seems something in 2024.5 is broken. Iām running a 6th Gen iPad with iPadOS 17.5.1 - The iPad is always on and HA is the only app Iāve installed and use.
When it has been sitting for a while and I tap a new dashboard page it hangs and doesnāt fully render the page. I either have to wait 1-2min or force quit and re-open. When I force quit and re-open everything works as expected and I can navigate through pages.

I really wish this was documented somewhere more obvious - I was trying to use the the āAssist Buttonā shortcut that was shared previously and was confused why it wasnāt working/giving me the new interface.

Iām on 2024.5.1 now and distant access from apple watch donāt work.
When I use an automation from my Iphone itās working but not when I launch it from my apple watch linked to my phone by bluetooth.
On local network both are working.

Not sure what Iām doing wrong.
I enabled double tap on the back of my phone.
Then my iPhone starts listening.
Afterwards a checkbox appears. The phone vibrates and nothing happens.
My phone is in Dutch while HA is fully configured in English.
Could that be a problem?
Hey @bgoncal , would it also be possible to bring Assist to the Apple Watch? This would make using Assist even more convenient 
Itās in progress, one downside of it is that for now I couldnāt find a way to send audio samples in realtime to HA server, so it requires sending the full audio which makes it slower, but keep an eye on the next releases.
2024.05 is still broken on my iPad. Iāve factory reset and restored the ipad to iPadOS 17.5.1 on a iPad 6 (WiFi). I have no other apps running on my iPad and never had issues before this update.

Instead of sending the audio from a watch to home assistant, could you use Siriās speech to text, which works great for me on the ultra 2 watch, and then just send the text to HA? For me, the whisper speech to text is a lot worse than Siri.

I want to use an alternative āpipelineā or āconversation agentā that is powered by openai. Currently this does not seem possible with ios.
Using shortcuts and Siri with āHey Siri, Assistā it always seems to use the default HASS agent and not the new pipeline or agent i created in HASS that uses openai instead of the default. Even if i delete the original agent and pipeline and set the new one as default. There is no way to select which pipeline to run in the shortcut automation āAssistā block. The shortcut fot āAssist in appā has that option but that has no option for direct input from Siri; and also that shortcut causes an error when opening the assist in app via automations and Siri without an input.
My iOS Widget on my Lockscreen opens my HA Test system and not my Prod System. How can i tell the widget to use the Prod System?
Did you end up solving this? I have the same problem and thought I was going insane but it seems the Assist shortcut is forced to the Home Assistant assistant. Maybe this is to push people towards the cloud sub, which is fine if so, but something should notify us that this is the case. Iāve wasted hours.

OK, I started a trial of HA Cloud and itās the same. There is no way for me to just say āHey Siri Assistā and then speak and have Open AI sort it out, controlling devices or telling me about the configuration of something I ask about. It just resorts to ādumbā mode. e.g. if I say āWhat is the coldest room in the houseā it rambles on about not knowing if any device called āis the coldest room in the houseā. However if I load up HA via lovelace and type that in directly, it tells me.
If I use assist to turn a light on and off it can manage that, but thatās it. It canāt be that hard to have an iOS device and speak to it and get HA via OpenAI to handle it. All the parts are there.
I have not played with this feature yet so Iām just shooting off the cuff, but if you long press the widget and go to widget settings, you can choose a pipeline. I wonder if that would help your issue. Again, this is a complete guess and itās probably not related at all.
Hi, thanks for the reply. What widget do you mean? I canāt see any pipeline setting on either the Assist shortcut, Assist Button. Assist in App has it but that opens the actual App and then you have to speak. The problems here are if you say āHey Siri, Assist in appā it opens the app alright but then errors out immediately.
If Assist and Assist button just did what they do but allowed you to specify a pipeline thatād be great. I have a feeling that Assist and Assist Button only work with sentences, i.e. dumb speech.
I tried setting up a webhook to fire off a conversation and while that part works, you canāt send the repsonse back to the shortcut for Siri to say.
I am quite astonished that this type of feature is just so badly supported. Everyone who talks about it online has a different āsolutionā and to date none of them work, or they provide only one part - the getting into the conversation but not getting things out.
Even the documented TTS notification doesnāt work. The HA app just pops up a notification with āTTSā in the text when the docs say itās meant to parse that as meaning thereās another field (tts_text) that is to be spoken out.
This is only possible for āAssist in Appā widget which errors when accessing through Siri. It would just be nice if they added the same option for Pipeline selection in the widget where you can speak text to siri and it should pass it to the Home Assistant Assist.
I mean they allready have that option for the āAssist in Appā shortcut. Cant be that hard to add it to the āAssist withā shortcutā¦
Hi Bruno! On iOS Shortcuts, it seems possible to choose your Assist pipeline when using the āAssist in appā action, but this option is not available with the āAssistā function. It would be really helpful to have this feature, as it could open up a lot of possibilities. For example, we could interact with our GPT Assist pipeline via Siri on any device (including HomePod). Do you know if itās going to be a feature?

This improvement for Traccar server made this integration un-reliable.
In case of a lost Internet connection - even for a few minutes - the Traccar server integration stops updating entities.
Before this update the integration continued updating entities after restoring Internet access.
The issue was registered.
The integration author reacted once by setting āneed-more-informationā label for the issue - and since then I have to un-stale the issue every 2 weeks.
And no any reaction since May.
No wonder that this āignoring usersā behaviour causes growth of irritation, āheating upā etc.
Is it a desired goal for Nabu Casa?
Traccar Server integration (like some other device_tracker integrations) is a matter of āHuman safetyā.
When a person can simply disappear after leaving a home - Traccar may help.
This is life-critical for elder people, not to mention a current situation in SOME countries suffering from wars or local āgov servicesāā¦
