Companion app

Hi all,

Weird issue. I restored HA and at the same time logged out of the companion app. When I now want to log back in the app says that there is already an iPhone with that name and I need to rename my phone. This is really annoying as I have automations that require my phone and the name it has before logging out .

Could really use some help on this issue

Thanks in advance

Delete the phone Mobile App integration from Home Assistant. Restart Home Assistant then try to add the phone again.

thanks! I gave that a shot and indeed it worked.

Just hadn’t had time to report back.

In fact you don’t need to restart. I deleted all entries in devices for my phone. Then logged out on my phone and logged back in. And that worked.

The whole thing started though by updating m IP Address and changing that in Duckdns. Then I wasn’t able to log back in. Still on my old IP address and no idea what the problem is there.

Yeah I wasn’t sure so I included it just in case. “Belt and braces”.

Good morning.

I’ve have come to understand that I still have an issue. Somehow there is still a device tracker related to my iphone which has no further info than this:

device_tracker.iphone

with the following attributes:

source_type: null
friendly_name: iPhone

Whats weird is that HA sometimes uses it as my Iphone (for automations) and therefore the state is always Away or unknowns.

I can’t remove it cause it doesn’t have a unique ID.

any suggestions?
