New to Home Assistant. I’m trying to understand how to use the Humidifier Card (Humidifier card - Home Assistant) to automate my whole house humidifier connected to a ZigBee switch using a humidity sensor. Currently when I try to add the card to my dashboard I get an error.
Specify an entity from within the humidifier domain
type: humidifier entity: ‘’
I used to see the card and could add it but I’ve messed something up in trying to attach entities to the different buttons.
As you have discovered, you need an entity with humidifier as its domain. You can combine your existing sensor and switch into such an entity using the Generic Hygrostat integration.
Thanks Drew, I had originally tried the Generic Hygrostat but it seemed to be overly complex and not suited to my application (smart plug, sensor and furnace humidifier). I’ll have another look at it and try to make more sense of it.
That said, both the Generic Humidifier and Generic Thermometer seem to be corrupted when I try to add them to the dashboard so I wonder what else I have messed up.
Thanks again @Didgeridrew , all good now. I had gone down a HACS Generic_Hygrostat rabbit hole instead of the Home Assistant Generic Hygrostat. Humidifier now working with the card. Next I will tackle the dehumidifier.
