Complete technophobe

Afternoon all,
Just to pre-empt any type of kick back! I’m useless with anything technical! However, I have the following set up that seems to be confusing itself and definitely me!
Living room - pair of speakers, a socket with a lamp and socket for Xmas tree that no longer is needed!
Dinning room - pair of speakers
Master bedroom - smart bulb
Bed 1 - mini speaker and bulb
Bed 2 - mini speaker and bulb
Bed 3 - Mini speaker and Bulb
Landing area - Mini Speaker and socket with lamp.
I seem to have duplicate rooms due to naming conventions when setting things up. EG. I put the bulb in Bed 1 before the speaker and I could not name the speaker Bed 1 cause it was already in use.
I’m guessing this is simply because I made a mess of the set up.
As I cannot seem to access to delete and reconfigure the set up. Is it a case I just hit a complete reset and start again? (Again, where is the master reset button!)
I cannot seem to delete the socket for my Xmas tree, my outside lights, or my outside Xmas lights.
This mean very often if asked to turn on a light it will say turning on all lights, cannot find any lights or certain sockets are unavailable.
I stated above, I’m a bit useless with this stuff. (Could it be that I just have too many speakers that are confusing the signals?
My set up is dead basic - BT fiber to the premises (100meg) into the BT WIFI home hub. everything then connected to home hub. My Google home app is working through my Iphone.

Which version of Home Assistant are you using?

Good question and the first test of my knowledge! You would have to tell me where to check that. All I know is I’m using the nest mini 2nd gen upstairs and 2 google next audio! The middle sized speaker down stairs so a pair in dinning room and pair in lounge. Sorry not much help! :weary:

What device are you running home assistant on?

I think you might be in the wrong forum. Did you install “Home Assistant” the software on a device like a RaspberryPi, Nuc, or Odroid? If the answer is no, then you might want to check out the homeautomation subreddit instead. They have general support for home automation devices outside the Home Assistant software.

Ok, cheers.

Please close the thread. Many thanks

What I suspected is that the answer to my question would be “No version at all”. Your first post didn’t mention anything directly related to Home Assistant.

Good luck solving the problem and if you ever consider trying Home Assistant, we’ll be here to help.

Thanks everyone. Yes, my error! I only have the google home assistant. The one that you tell to put lights on, play music etc. I have no specific device with software loaded to it! Just an iPhone with google home!
Again thanks for clearing up👍
