I’m new to home automation, alexa, and home assistant / HA-Cloud. I currently run Home-Assistant in a docker container.
I did manage - thanks to search engines - to control my Roku-TV (TCL) to an extent. I wonder if there’s a list somewhere of commands that Alexa understands and forwards to Home-Assistant. Specifially, I’m trying to figure out what the valid “pause/play” command for a media-player device is - might that be a Roku or something else.
So far I got things like “Alexa, turn on netflix” working (via scripts), but I’m stuck on “Alexa, pause TV”. Or even “Alexa, turn tv pause on”, or whatever the magic command might be.
I’m not sure if I don’t utter the correct command, if the command would be understood but my scripts/whatever aren’t firing off, etc. Heck, I’m willing to sift through the code, but I don’t know where to start!
I also have to admit that I’m having a rough time with the documentation - I can see where it’s awesome if I just knew a little more about the inner workings and concepts of HA/HA-Cloud, or even the definition of terms like “Domain” etc. While I’m asking the obvious annoying n00b questions, would there be a primer on that somewhere as well?
