Conbee II first look

So. The Conbee II stick arrived and while I was hooking it up I figured I’d snap a few pictures for those interested in size and such.

So far build quality is nice with a decent matte coating to the shell. The usb cap is a nice touch but unlikely to be used at all.

What is the difference between conbee and conbee II?

Is it worth getting?

I’m curious about this too. The only thing I’ve read is besides how it looks is that it supposedly “is outfitted with Microchip ATSAMR21E18A Cortex-M0+ microcontroller and offers improved signal strength and range.”

What’s the difference to ConBee I?

  • Mainly the ConBee II looks more fresh
  • Albeit it uses another MCU the functionality is equal
  • Same range as ConBee I and RaspBee (all three have a power-amplifier)
  • Same 200 max. device count
  • Firmware for ConBee I / II and RaspBee will be actively maintained

Thanks for the information! Sounds like the Conbee II isn’t really necessary if you already have the first iteration.

I guess it’s a good replacement when the conbee (1) breaks :slight_smile:

They list it as the same range… also marketing it they list range is improved on the new version… Don’t have the old one so I can’t compare…
