Conbee stick ubuntu>VirtualBox>Home Assistant

Currently running Home assistant on a NUC with Ubuntu. In Ubuntu I’m running a Virtual Box running Home Assistant. Everything is running fine. The only problem I find is that de virtualbox does not recognize the conbee stick. Is there a way to make it work?

You need to pass your USB device through

Click on the green + and add your Conbee

Thanks for Reply Francis! The problem is that it’s not visible in that collum. It’s seems that the virtual box does not see the conbee stick.

Make sure you have installed the virtual box extension pack and that nothing on the host side is already using the conbee. I tried this about 3 years ago and found USB pass through was so unreliable on VirtualBox that I gave up and switched to VMWare. I don’t know if it has gotten better since then, though.

Moved home assistant to vmware and everything runs fine now. Thanks for the help!
