Condition Apple Watch unlocked

I want to trigger an automation (lights on if motion is detected) only if my Apple watch is unlocked.
Can i do that?

I don’t believe it’s possible. As far as I know there is no sensor created by the watch.

Does the apple watch have access to Shortcuts? And are you on iOS 13?

yes i have. What do you suggest?

Well I don’t know to be honest. I don’t have it. I do know that they opened up the OS to shortcuts so you can do alot more than in the past. I’d be willing to bet you could make shortcuts based on the locked status of your watch.

I personally can’t see how to achieve this. The only trigger option that’s linked to the watch is linked to workout…

I was speculating. I don’t have a watch or IOS 13. My phone doesn’t support it. I do know that they removed restrictions that the os used to impose on applications. This ended up giving shortcuts many more options.

didn’t mean to tell you you were wrong, was just trying to confirm what you and I both said.
I even tried pushcut but again you’re limited to time based or location based events/triggers.
If Apple further opens it’s OS, we might get this in the future

what can you do with alarms? Can it sense when I turn off an alarm or snooze it? I’ve been waiting to upgrade my phone when this happens. Still on an iphone 6

nice, did they add the headphone jack back in it :joy: :joy:

lol no, we’re in full dongle mode now.
