Condition: Change(increase/decrease) in specific time-frame

Hi all,

couldn’t find an “time” configuration example which fit the following condition:

If a (RAIN) sensor is increasing by a specific amount in a given “time frame”

for example:
If the amount of rain is 15l (or more) in time window of “20 minutes” (or less)

any ideas?

I believe the application you described is typically handled with a Trend Binary Sensor.

When the trend you define is detected, the binary_sensor’s state is set to on (which can be used in an automation’s State Trigger).

There’s also the very useful statistics sensor.
