Config infinite symlink

I am running HA OS. In my rootdir I have several symlinks to various directories

However, the symlink for the config directory seems to be an infinitive one, because when I cd to config, there is another symlink from config to config

How can I break this chain and is it safe to do so?

To answer my own question, I removed the symlink with

rm -f config

without any noticable issues
