I have a new device on Alexa. Its called Office Blinds. Works fine with Alexa voice controls but I cannot see it as an Alexa integration in HA. It runs fine as a routine in Alexa but I’d love to have control and status on my Dash.
It doesn’t work like that I think. You can’t just put “Works with Alexa” devices into HA.
You can use Alexa for, for example, yell “Alexa turn on my lights” and if the lights are in HA that will work (whether or not they are “Works with Alexa” lights.
If the blinds are zigbee then you can get what you want. But to do so you have to remove it from alexa and reconnect it directly to HA.
Follow the directions to set up zha including buying the hardware it recommends. Once it is connected to HA then you can expose it to alexa using HA’s alexa integration. And then you can fix your routine to open and close the new blinds device.
Totally irrelevant for reference. Things connected to Alexa are only connected to Alexa, regardless of the mechanism. Alexa does not tell HA (or any other service for that matter) about the state of the devices connected to it. Connecting something to alexa lets you control it with alexa, that’s it.
That’s why step 1 of getting what you want is remove it from alexa and connect it to something else. HA in this case.
