I think I understand the initial_state part for an individual automation, and when I restart HA my four automations all show they are enabled.
However on the Overview home page there is an overall switch by the ‘Automation’ section and this is OFF on reboot. I have to enable this switch to allow the (already) enabled automations to work. I’m confused.
If the individual automations are turned on, that’s just a UI bug.
Doesn’t seem to be as simple as that.
The individual automations are “on” but don’t work until I enable the top (circled) one.
If I don’t click the top one nothing works even though they show “active” - or is that the bug? They show active and they are not? In which case, what happens when I toggle the top one?
I am still confused
For some reason, they decided to put an “all” toggle on the cards in the default auto-gen mode for lovelace.
It can be removed if you “take control” and use the builtin UI Editor. I think the auto-gen mode is meant to help people get started with Home Assistant.
