Connect Xiaomi Motion Sensor2 to HomeAssistant with HUSBZB-1 dongle

I tried to press the button on the sensor for 5 seconds (Pairing mode), and “add device” on HUSBZB-1 Zigbee integration page,

“show logs” has only:

[0x0000:zdo] ZDO request ZDOCmd.Mgmt_Permit_Joining_req: [60, <Bool.false: 0>]

The model is RTCGQ02LM, Bluetooth version is 5.0

Thank you very much!

Bluetooth is not zigbee.

Am I missing something? :man_shrugging:

I also tried to use “Passive BLE Monitor” integration to add Xiaomi Motion Sensor2, but it cannot add it automatically. Do I need to find MAC address in other way and add the device manually?

I don’t know. I don’t use any bluetooth devices.

but bluetooth devices won’t work with a zigbee controller.

Maybe someone who does know will show up and help further.

It’s definitely a bluetooth device, so your zigbee gateway is out of the picture.
As most Xiomi BLE devices, the data is encrypted, so you’ll need the key before being able to use it with Passive BLE Monitor.

See FAQ - Passive BLE Monitor integration

I don’t have Xiaomi gateway. The FAQ page provided a few ways to get the key but seems that they all need MiHome app and gateway?

Second approach ( TelinkFlasher) can connect but cannot activate the sensor:
10:01:34: Searching for devices
10:01:38: Connecting to: Mi Motion Sensor 2
10:01:49: Detected Mi Thermometer
10:01:50: Connected
10:01:56: Activating now, please wait…
10:08:18: Disconnected.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
