Connect ZBT-1 does not see Aqara hub G3 via Zigbee Home Automation

Hello,

I have a Connect ZBT-1 USB dongle that is correctly recognised on a Synology VM

I’m just a starter and I purchased an Aqara Hub G3 because it supports Zigbee and I expected it to work with Home Assistant using the Connect dongle.

But when I try to search for devices using ZHA, I can’t find any.

What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

I suspect the Aqara hub is acting as another coordinator (like the ZBT-1), so what you’ve got is two separate Zigbee networks. They will always be invisible to each other - you can only have one coordinator in a network.

You may be able to add the sensors and lights etc. from the Aqara network to the ZHA network instead, but probably not vice versa - most manufacturers hubs only work with their own devices. They can’t be on both.

Lots of good stuff on Zigbee here:

I’ll have to admit, after doing a little digging around, I couldn’t find out exactly what this Hub is doing (the only Aqara Hub G3 I could find was the Camera Hub G3), but it appears to be a hub in the sense that you can attach ZigBee devices to it, and the Hub in turn will “present” these attached ZigBee devices as other kind of devices (like Homekit devices). So I’m somewhat doubtful this hub is going to do what you had hoped it would do.

ouff, that’s so disappointing. Thanks a lof four your insight, I hoped that Zigbee would rhyme with interoperability and guess what…
