Connecting M-bus meter via rs485 to ethernet converter

Hi
New guy here.
I have tried to connect my energy meter via rs485 to ethernet to my HA-server.
But i am at a total loss with the configuration in HA.

my hardware:
EM340DINAV23XM1PFA04 energy meter with M-bus

RS485 to Ethernet Converter signal converter.
Ha server is on an old laptop on proxmox.

I can find and configurate the signal converter on my network.

I have tried with the modbus intagration but it does not get any values from the meter.
Some people seem to use node red with modbus nodes but i have no idea how that works.

Maby I have the wrong hardware?
Does anybody know where I should start learning about this?
All this modbus coding was alot harder to understand than I thought.
Thank you!!

Edit 1:
I have learned that M-bus and modbus is not the same. Is it still possible with my equipment to connect?

M-bus is not modbus

Yes that is right. Forgot to write about that.
Do you know if its still possoble to connect to HA with my M-bus meter?

Mbus normally deploy authentication and encryption, so you often need to get a key from your provider.
If you are in EU, then I think there is a law that require them to provide it to you.

Thank you. I will try to learn more bout this. Maby it would be bette if I had a Modbus meter insted of M-bus.
I found this now:

will it work for me do you think?

It might but you will probably still need the information from your provider to set it up.

Hi again. Do any of you guys know what type of code I should look in to. Is it still Rs485? Or some software to read out values. I would be super grateful. But Maby I should get some more suted hardware for this thing. I just like it to be a real 3phase meter without wifi or some cloud service.
