Connecting only 3V3 and GND to ESP32 does not work

A. ESP32 Test Board Burner Development Board WIFI

B. ESP32 breadbroad PCB

  1. I’m trying to replace a tuya chip with ESP32 in a battery powered device

  2. I flashed my ESP32 using A with ESPHome that transmits BLE and disables wifi + AP to save power

  3. I have another ESP32 running a BLE proxy, so I can see these transmissions

  4. However, once I remove the ESP32 module from A and put it in B, I stop seeing these transmissions

  5. I have connected 3V3, GND from A to B, and all other pins unconnected (including EN)

What am I missing here?

Did you carefully solder all the components to B-board?

only 2 pins 3V3 and GND needed correct?

You need those 2 resistors and cap at least.

Yes, they are soldered on.

Then inspect your soldering, also verify with multimeter strapping pins and that enable is pulled up.
