Container setup: How to use homeassistant.local instead of IP?

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to find a thread with a solution but they usually seem to be for HA OS setups.

So I was wondering if for HA container setups the hostname homeassistant.local should be working or not?
I can easily reach my HA setup via the IP but not the hostname.

Do I need to enable this somewhere or change settings in the container or host machine?

I do not work that much with containers, but the Bonjour protocol needed for mDBS probably needs you to have host access to the network interface or you would need to define each and every port needed for the Bonjour and Zeroconfig protocols.
