Continuous hot water Australia Rheem 876

Hey all,

I have a Rheem 876 Continuous hot water system. These are fairly standard in new homes getting built in Sydney.

Does anyone know of any projects to replicate the Kitchen or Bathroom Controllers with Esp32 or similar.

I’m even half tempted to have a crack myself. All I know is the controllers and unit take 2x cable that polarity doesn’t matter.

If anyone knows what protocol it would use that would be helpful.

Do not do this.

This is a gas powered water heater.

You must be a licensed gasfitter to do any work on this device.

Modifying the device in any way will void its approval and using an unapproved device is a criminal offence.

It varies by state but you can expect up to 6 months in prison and a fine of up to $15,000.00
