Control (hack) monitor background light by ESP32, Need advise where to start

Dear Community,

i own a Samsung U28E850R 28-Inch LED Monitor and was wondering if it would be possible, to open the device and take over background brightness control via an ESP32 chip, so that i could integrate brightness control into homeassistant?

I can’t judge the amount of effort that would be needed to achieve this. Please let me know what you think about it and where to start if you think it’s possible?

The best place to start would be a wiring diagram, usually not publicly avaiable. Repair people might have access.

Can you do it via cec? You’re far less likely to break it!
