Control Midea IR Air conditioners from HA

There are some guides on here for controlling internet connected Midea Air Conditioners from HA. However there are a lot of people with just normal IR units.

I linked mine in about 18 months ago with using Tasmota IR and HA. I finally got round to writing up how I did it.

This also contains a link to me ESP Flash rig design.

Happy hacking.

I can see link. I am looking for an IR blaster that is battery powered so i can control Sor conditioner with HA

Hi , Yes the link is in 404 heaven but I dnt think that is related to what you want to do

Just a question , what is "Sor conditioner " ? do you mean normal air conditioner ?

May I also ask why do you need it to be battery powered ? Is it a location issue ?
You can just attach a power bank to the universal remote and it will work .

If you are looking for a good IR universal remote that works well with HA then try
broadlink brand which I have tested but unfortunately i am not sure they have
a battery powered model

cheers

Yes it was meant to be air conditioner.

Battery IR blaster would be good because I dont really have a good power plug near the a/c or with good view for the signal.

So maybe just putting it on the ceiling would have been great. :+1:

Thanks

All you need I have written above , its very cheap so no need to make it a big deal .

If you attach it to the ceiling then how would charge the battery ? Unless you are
spider man then just get what the guys in the forum tell you BUT make sure you
check the reviews and specs before you buy anything because everyone have
different needs and some of the guys here are technical so you might get a good advice that
is somewhat difficult to implement .

Do you have a technical background ? If you do then you will be fine

Thx

Somewhat technical but new to HA. Will take a look at different options and see what is best.

If i put it on ceiling it would be removable to be able to charge once in a while

As the guys told , you can use a power bank in the same way , just glue it together with the remote
OR get a proper project box and hock it to the ceiling and add your stuff inside .

A friend of mine has something like this where he needed 5 V in the ceiling , what we did is just add mobile
charger inside the lamp fixture and got 5v to his device , might be you can do the same
