Hi,
I have a Google Nest Mini and
have a speaker which can be connected via DLNA and supports Spotify.
My HA can discover the speaker (as a DLNA renderer) and expose it to Google Home.
However, even after I set the speaker as a default of my Nest Mini,
music from Spotify comes out from the Mini, not my external speaker.
As a workaround, I could manage to play Spotify on the speaker via Home Assistant UI,
and created a custom switch to toggle the music player. (e.g. “OK, Google. Turn on/off MusicPlayer”)
but with this, I can’t ask Google to search a song via voice commands.
I’ve spent some hours digging related issues without any success.
It seems that Chromecast Audio is one easy way, but it has been discontinued and become ridiculously expensive.
Would there be any suggestions related to this issue?
