I bought a few things lately to extend my existing smarthome setup with HA. I use a custom zigbee gateway connected via USB and I convert zigbee to mqtt with zigbee2mqtt.
I also got a RGBWW led strip (one white led, and one rgb led in pairs on the strip) and a Gledopto RGBW 2ID controller. My initial thought was that the 2ID controller would allow me to control the rgb and the white led on the strip separately, but I’m failing at getting that done. With mqtt messages I am able to turn on/off the white and rgb leds without problems.
HA shows me controls with brightness, color temperature and the color wheel and I’ve read numerous posts stating that the temp controller actually controls the white led. In my case this doesn’t do that.
Am I making a flaw in my train of thought somewhere? Should I have gotten a RGBW-CC controller instead? Or is this something i can fix within HA?
