They are advertised as being controllable by turning the switch on and off fast to choose the different colors but the driver that came with them is marked “2.4G RF Dimmable LED Driver with CCT”. The manufacturer of the driver seems to be a company called VIG and the domain www.fsvig.com is indicated at the bottom of the driver. The URL however is dead and there seems not to be any information on the driver apart from a few people trying to sell them on ebay.
Sadly the driver did not come with a remote and also the company Paulmann does not seem to sell any matching that series.
The PCB is marked VIG-TECH K83-P14B and the only IC with more than 4 legs that has not been etched identifies as L2545H. Does anyone have experience controlling these or similar drivers via Homeassistant / ESPHome or anything?
My ultimate goal would be to convert them to Dali but the matching DT8 2CH 500mA drivers are quite pricey in Europe (close to 100€ pricepoint) and the Chinese models in the ~20€ pricepoint seem not to be available to end customers (https://german.alibaba.com/product-detail/DALI-20W-NFC-US-Spec-Power-1601514794818.html). Any suggestions for an affordable driver would also be highly appreciated.
I don’t have your device, so I cant confirm anything.
Your first link says it’s zigbee. It would be pretty weird to me if they had also another 2.4G approach.
Anyway, can you find antenna circuit on that PCB?
I would trash the controller and experiment with building my own controller. If it is a constant-current driver with a relatively narrow voltage range I would suspect the brightness is controlled with a PWM-like driver. Colors, however is so far a mystery. Do you mean RGB range of colors or warm/cool? I would be curious to determine if there is any electronics in the LED housing.
The panels have two chains of leds in them and do not do other colors. I need to control 6 lights total and the panels seem to be quite dumb (3 wires: warm white, cold white and common) and I think i am not able to wire multiple panels to one driver as i cannot “chain” them and parallel attachment of leds seems to be a big no no. So the driver swap story would also be my favorite but i don’t want to spend 500 € on drivers
