I recently encountered history that wouldn’t load, etc. that pointed me to a corrupt database after searching it up.
I’ve found how to fix and I will do that, but that’s not the reason I’m posting.
When I went looking into the config folder for the db files to restore, this is what I found:
A corrupt database is a condition that should trigger immediate and persistent alarm bells, and yet apparently my instance has been experiencing and silently recovering from this for 6 months. I saw no symptoms or warning signs until now.
This needs to be better communicated to the user so we can address it immediately rather than ending up in the situation I am in now.
