CoTech USB Weather Station with Home Assistant Possible?

Greetings,

I got a CoTech Weather Station that connects to my PC with USB to feed a program called “WeatherHome”. It works fine there, but so far I haven’t been able to use any other program to replace the software that came with the weather station.
It’s an re-branded weather station, probably a mass-produced china thing… But I was wondering, as it only connects via. usb to feed the software that came with it, is there any chance to feed Home Assistant with the weather information instead of the original software?

I have no clues when it comes to coding or whatsoever, but what people around the earth have accomplished by some coding I wouldn’t be suprised if someone found a way.

Here is a link of how it looks like: https://images.clasohlson.com/medias/sys_master/hb3/h80/9664252510238.jpg

Thanks!

Hi @dArkimbA ,
My neighbor has one of these weather station. I get his weather data using a RTL-SDR dongle and a HA addon called rtl_433.
Let me know if you are still interested in integrating the CoTech Data and i set you in the right direction

Cheers

Shane

Cool! Nice setup you got there.

I am very interested in this!

I’ve got a Cotech WH-1080: https://www.clasohlson.com/medias/sys_master/9542747947038.pdf

Do you think it could be read by HA? What hardware do I need?

I’m running HAOS on an Intel Nuc, using Sonoff Dongle and Zigbee2MQTT.

Would be nice to hear of your (and everybody else’s) setup. :slightly_smiling_face:
