Count Binary State "on"

Hi,
i’m quite new to homeassistant. I am using hass.io on docker on Ubuntu Server 18.04.
I use it to get data from my HVAC with bbqkees ems-esp-gateway.

Now i want to count how many times the heating is enabled on a per day basis.
I already defined a counter but now i

  1. want to increment the counter every time when the binary sensors changes state to on
  2. passing the value to another template sensor before…
  3. reset the counter at midnight (0:00) (?) to log the value.

Any ideas?
