I have a random issue with the cover component and Garadget in Home Assistant. I will get random notifications that the door has closed when nothing has happened. Garadget still says the door has been closed for a length of time along with the actual door sensor I have configured for Garadget. However, you can see in the graph that the door changed to closed when the errant notification occurred. Any way to fix this? It also happens when I restart home assistant.You can see in the below screenshots that HASS thinks the door has been closed for 48 minutes and so does the garadget website. However, you see the red line indicating that the state changed to closed about 5 minutes ago.
any updates? I have the same issue…drives me crazy since I have the pushbullet notifying me that the garage its open, ended up setting a camera in front, just for peace of mind!
I ended up installing the iOS Home Assistant app and creating a notification there and it has gone away for the most part. I still have a false open once a week or so but it’s no longer daily.
I figured a way around…
Under settings, I have:
scan period - every 2 sec
sensor reads 5
sensor threshold 10
This allows the laser to shoot twice before reading the results, only accepting the average… so… every 2 seconds it has 5 readings…reducing the posibility of error…and just increasing the default from 1 to 2 seconds…I can live with that.
