Does anyone knows how can i use homeassistant as a NAS server?
The idea is to have on HA a share or something like a NAS where i can explore, upload, download files…
I have my HA on a raspberry pi 4, i plugged an external disk via usb 3.0. Is there any way that i can use this disk as a NAS or a smb share or something like this?
Yes, with the Samba Share addon. You can find it in the Addons store.
I think the Samba Share addon is hard coded to certain libraries.
This libraries is part of a backup in HA too, so using it to store other files than those intended for HA might wreck havoc in HA backups and therefore maybe also in updates where a backup is not unselected.
Use Samba NAS from this repo : dianlight/hassio-addons: Hassio.io one of the best addons available for a NAS. Allows to mount any external usb drives as smb.
