Create snapshot takes hours

On my 8Gb 120Gb SSD NUC with Homeassistant OS a snapshot takes 2-3 hours to finish. The snapshot size is about 4-5 Gb. My InfluxDB is probably the largest part. Is this normal?

On my test system (same specs, same config, smaller InfluxDB) a snapshot is done in minutes.

It sounds a bit slow but not incredibly so. On my Rpi3B+ a snapshot would take 30+ minutes for a final size of 2-3GB.

Contrary to Tim I think this is extremly slow! My NUC takes less than 15 minutes to make a backup of the full VM resulting in a 20 GB large file.

How large is your InfluxDB? Are you saving the snapshot to the same disk or upload it to a cloud?

I can’t see the influxdb size. A few gb? Saved on the local Ssd of the nuc.

Hi,
started a backup at 12:00, now its 13:36 and according to Supervisor Logs its still doing a backup of influxdb…
It would be great to have some sort of progres-bar or percentage sensor how far the backup is, or at least a binary sensor that the backup is (still) in progres…
I start the backup with a service call so I do not see when it finishes, I need to either check the supervisor logs or to look into the backups section if the new backup was created…
HW: Rpi4 4GB with an external 1TB USB-HDD connected with 3.0, backup size 2,9 GB, HASS-DB Size 1,59 GB.
