Critical App bug, not fixable for user

Good day,

my father tinkered around with his app while I was configuring the Home Assistant.

He placed an exclamation mark at the end of the IP address (homeassistant.local:8123!). The exclamation mark is the culprit.
App instantly crashed when trying to fetch. Restart crashes upon splash screen, no possibility to get into any settings.
Deleting the app, emptying cache and restarting the phone before reinstalling all didnt fix it as the settings are persistently saved.

iPhone X
iOS 16.xx

Maybe there’s a trick I didn’t see as of yet?
Else we have to wait with his app till there’s a change in the app’s code

Turn off wifi and data, start the app and use the cog in the lower right corner to change server settings?

Or go to icloud settings, I think you might be able to turn off saving the data there. Or blame Apple for no way to delete app data.

Hey Edwin, thanks for your reply.
Your first guess is sadly not possible. With everything turned off the app still crashes on the splash screen and I cant even get to the settings button.
Its app start, Home Assistant splash screen, app closes, cant reopen, all in half a second.

And I also checked the iCloud settings but I didn’t find anything that relates to Home Assistant. I even removed the app from the app store under purchases and it still kept the data.
So yeah, screw you Apple lol
