Cryptic to friendly Entity ID

Some of my devices have an assigned name within HA that makes it difficult within the configuration file. For instance, one device I have is called binary_sensor.aeotec_doorwindow_sensor_sensor_5. While I can assign a friendly name to it I can not figure out how to use it when identifying the entity id. For example

  • entity Id: binary_sensor.aeotec_doorwindow_sensor_sensor_5
    would read much better like
  • entity Id: binary_sensor.Front_Door

Is this possible??

The friendly name is not possible to use in the config. I assume this is a zwave device, then you may use openzwave control panel where you can change the name of the device I any way you’d like
