Cumulative rain recording for grass watering

Hey guys,

I’m looking at create a sensor to cumulatively keep track of the amount of rain in my area. I can use this to understand if the grass needs watering. I’m using Dark Sky but not sure how to use the sensors properly for this use case.

Any ideas?

I think you could use the statistics sensor to get a total of previous values.
