Custom Bar-Card, what to use in its place?

Never in the years of running Home Assistant have I ever seen a forced depreciation of a custom card simply because the author is not supporting it any longer. Dod I miss something?

The custom bar-card works just fine here, but alternately, what do others use?

Someone must have requested it be removed from HACS.

I just ignored the warning as it is working fine for me too.

There is a fork that is being maintained. I tried it with inconsistent results. Some cards worked others did not. I couldn’t be bothered working out why. Just went back to the unmaintained version. Because Repository is no longer maintained, custom-cards/bar-card has been removed from HACS. Please help me solve the problem. · Issue #199 · custom-cards/bar-card · GitHub

I just re-added it by using a custom repository…

That’s a good idea. Though I haven’t seen the warning again since ignoring it.

I kept on seeing the warning and couldn’t get rid of it.

I also asked why…and yes, apparently someone reported it :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

There’s another one specifically for timers:

I have switched to this one with very good results.

Yes that has been mentioned already. Be aware however that it does have issues but no way to report them.

I have created a feature request for a core version of this card. Please up-vote it if you feel it is worthwhile implementing. The core version would likely be simpler e.g. horizontal row entity only.

Left a comment, not really sure how to ‘up-vote’ it, though

I can’t find it on Hacs, how did you upload it?

add it as a custom repository

Ah, Github. Where good ideas go to die.

Get used to it: Heads-up: Feature requests are moving!

Adding via custom repo first worked. After restart the warning about ‘not maintened’ state popped up. Although i ignored that an the files bar-card.* filed still exist, i get an Configuration Error: “Custom element not found: bar-card”

Got it fixed by definig bar-car.js as a local ressource.

@CreepDE Seems you have started something by reporting the integration dude
It was working fine for me (and a lot of others apparently)

Long time ago I seggested that charts used for energy display should be made available as stand alone card. But it went without echo… Would be nice for consistent dashboard look.
