Custom cards not showing for other users

I have other users in my HA setup currently and they are unable to see custom cards. This is both on the iPhone and also on browser. Is this expected behaviour since the users integration isn’t fully there yet? I have also added them as an administrator but same issue.

I just created a ‘guest’ user (not assigned as an Administrator) and logged in with it. I can see all my custom cards including the tracker card. I did this in private/incognito mode in Firefox and Chrome.

I’m running the Hassio NUC image. HA v0.92.2

Might be their browser version?

Hmm ok, I’ve tested the user on different machines and browsers so this issue seems to be tied to that user only. I’ll have to try test creating a new user to see how that goes.

I’ve not seen a guest option though, the selection for this user is either Adminisrator or User.

There isn’t one. My user was just called ‘guest’.

Are they by any chance running iOS 9.3.5 or lower? Or Android (older versions, don’t know exactly which one). Custom cards for example are not supported on ios 9 an below. They’ll just throw you an error. Same for ipads on those versions.

Same happens for Android devices though I don’t know which version exactly. Clearing cache might also alleviate a lot of problems. But you said you already did this. Try creating another user if nothing else helps. But maybe try to log in with your own account (the one you know for sure is working) on the device that doesn’t show the cards (you said your other users can’t see the cards, so I guess it was tested on their devices?).

Anyways iOS can be a b*tch. What you could try as last resort is to go to the settings>safari>advanced>experimental features and turn everything ON. And while you are there, clear the cache from there as well.

Will try that, thanks.

They are running iOS 11.1.4. My phone is on 11.4 so not much difference there.

I’ll try the new user first and see if it’s relating to that.

It is relatively newish yes, but if I may ask. Why would you run iOS 11? It is probably the worst iOS ever made (which is why iOS 13 was delayed in the first place, as the features from iOS 13 would have come in iOS 12, but Apple decided to fix their OS first).

I highly recommend you to run iOS 12, trust me, throw away your beliefs (if you have them) that iOS updates will make your phone slower, because iOS 12 actually made all of my devices a lot faster and as for the older iPhones like iPhone 6 it is bareable where it wasn’t with iOS 11 imho. And not only that you will also have almost 1.5 years of missed security updates.

Not judging, just trying to save you headaches and actually make things better. But who knows maybe you have a damn good reason for it, and the curious person that I am, would love to know what that reason might be :stuck_out_tongue:

Haha thanks for the advice, no reason really and based on your feedback I’ll probably update our phones!

New user has the same result. :grimacing:

An upgrade to 12.3 did the trick! I was wrong, the phone was on 11.0.2.

Great to hear!

What about the speed, did iOS 12 improve the experience on your phones?

I did notice some speed improvements on my phone for sure, complete opposite of what I was expecting, mostly around multitasking actions, etc. Definitely worth the upgrade.
