I wrote a custom component to pull data from the Splitwise API into Homeassistant. Now you can create an automation to send a text message automatically to your roommate or friend when he/she owes you more than x amount.

This is my first custom component in Homeassistant, so feel free to raise issues or suggest changes.

This is really quite neat. Plan to try it out for my own expenses: push notification if at the pub zone, and I should be buying my partner dinner instead!
