I took a spin at creating a Custom GPT on OpenAI that is an expert at helping you set up Home Assistant, and is especially good at helping you create automations. I’ve tested it myself and liked where it’s going so far, but wanted to open it up to the community to see how you all are liking it.
Please take it for a spin and let me know what changes you want to see, we can hone it in to be a pretty helpful tool!
Hey @Vasco! Fair question. The best overview is that with regular GPT4 you are having to focus the purpose of the chat every time you interact with it. This GPT is specifically tailored to be an expert in Home Assistant and writing efficient automations. So you don’t have to prompt the GPT to that point at the start of every conversation.
Here is my “rivalry” on the same subject. It might be more focused to YAML coding. It also knows AppDaemon and Jinja2. Additionally it has more details about Mobile Companion details (stock GPT-4 doesn’t know much about notification details or such). I’m happy to know more on how these compare to each other.
Good idea. Removes lot of small fixes to the code, as it selects correct trigger and entities. But only suitable for private use.
I wanted to create something community might benefit from. Let’s hope that OpenAI in future brings us new features that could combine these two ideas.
I just got an email from OpenAI that they are opening up a store in the coming weeks that will allow people to sell their builds. Something to think about.
Yep, wishing to do it. But either I should have my own website that they can verify (that I don’t have) or I should be ok with them publishing my full name. Full name from my credit card, with first, second and last name…
