Custom Integrations on Synology Docker

I have installed HA on a Synology NAS using Docker.

Now I am trying to get a custom integration (Gardena) working. I created a custom_components directory in the config directory and in there I copied the gardena integration files.

However, HA does not recognise the directory or integration.

I browsed this forum, but could not find any documentation how to make this work.

Help is much appreciated

Is it this?

If so, there are instructions on that Github page for manual installation that include needing to start a terminal in your HA docker instance to create a symlink.

The easier option would be to install HACS and then just install this integration from there. When you do that, HACS does all the heavy lifting for you.

Thanks for the support! Much appreciated.

I got it working.

And the one that did not work was this one: https://gitlab.com/tobiaskuntzsch/home-assistant-gardena-integration

I removed it and used the one in your response.

Yea, that one looks like it’s an archived project, which means the person who wrote it isn’t maintaining it anymore. Glad I accidentally found something that would work for you. :joy:
