Customisation of a wall mounted dashboard - just need the link

Hello,

I am basically asking for a link to a good tutorial for a very common setup. There is rather too much than to less information to get the track.

A want to use Fire Tablet 10 to set up a wall mounted dashboard for the family. I already managed to install Fully Kiosk Browser on the tablet. How do I customise the menu to get topics like Log and Media out of the way? How do I get the menu to the top like seen in some videos?

I thought I would need to create a user fire tablet and customise the view of this user in the user settings. I didn’t find anything like this in the user settings though. The official documentation also doesn’t cover this or I didn’t recognise it. Am I on the wrong track?

Thank you for a link to a well done tutorial amongst the many.

To get rid of some menu items just have a long press on the home assistant at top (or the icon if collapsed):

After a few seconds release and then you can disable most of them:

To get it only on top you have to check ‘Always hide sidebar’ in the user settings.

Here is a youtube video how to enable kios mode, this disables all the menus (just fyi)

Thanks @madface,

just what I wanted to achieve.

There is still the search lens on the top right corner giving actions too weird for the normal family member. Can we get rid of this, too?

Yes, for this you need the kiosk mode mentioned in the video from youtube.
With this enabled you have only the dashboard and no icons any more. But it’s a little bit more than just a few clicks to be honest.

Here is the link, i forgot to post it:
