Hey,
I’m currently using a HACS-Addon, to sort my Sidebar which includes changing icons, names and position of it’s contents.
It would be nice, to be able to change this in HomeAssistant natively.
The major problem with all of this is, that it is really hard (without any additional interface addons) to enable specific items only for certain users.
I don’t see any reason, why my wife - or a wallmounted tablet) should include icons for history, logviewer, node-red, and whatever else… but they should be there when I am logged in with my admin user, for example.
I would really love to see some user specific options here - where as an admin, I can adjust, which items should be visible to another user and which not.
While we wait for the ability to save our changes to the side bar, a simple win could be to default the Settings shortcut to the top instead of the bottom of the list. Would save the need to regularly scroll down and would assist with house keeping by updates number showing alongside settings at the top of the side bar.
The ability to set any of the sidebar items as ‘admin only’ would be very helpful. Logbook, history, calendar are all somewhat information overload to provide users in my case and it would be best to just prevent them from seeing it all together
