Wondering if anyone else, particularly in Asia Pacific have had this issue. My two Daikin split systems just had a firmware update for their BRP072C42 wifi units, upgrading them from 1.13.1 to 1.15.0, and immediately it has caused them both to produce completely junk energy data, on both the Estimated Power sensor, and the Total Energy sensors.
You can see this started immediately after the firmware was updated:
Yes - added additional unit today and upgraded firmware in existing 3 units and experiencing the same outcome with the energy figures.
Haven’t had a chance yet to look at the figures in depth to see if I can work out what is going on.
In AP - specifically Sydney.
Hi there, I came across your post thanks to a google search - my interest has nothing to do with energy sensors or Home Assistant (I don’t even know what they are!); but with the Daikin firmware upgrade itself that you mentioned.
I have two of those Daikin wifi controllers myself, and also had the firmware ‘upgrade’ forced on me a week or so ago. My problem now is that it seems the clock in each wifi controller no longer syncs to anything - the result being that the clocks are racing off and getting faster each day by about 5 minutes. Have you noticed anything like that yourself?
Hi … I don’t use any of the scheduling features of the app - so hadn’t noticed.
I did just check, however, and I can confirm all 4 of my controllers are off time - between 4 & 12 minutes.
I’ll check again tomorrow to try and benchmark the delta by day.
So - certainly does seem it has caused a problem. I cannot see any way to force an update or configure time server etc.
There is an app update for iOS. This updates the firmware and has fixed the adapter time issue for me.
I note this also looks to fix energy usage stats - need a bit more time to check this fully.
My recollection was that upgrading to the latest version of the Mobile Controller app provided the option to update the firmware. As I did it separately for each I think it was under the individual controller under the settings menu (cog)
When an update was available tapping on firmware did the update.
BTW I connect via Home Assistant and the share that out to Google Home. A direct connection wasn’t available when I set it up. I can see an option now under Google Home which I assume is how you’re planning to connect.
TL;DR check in iOS App Store you have latest version of the app.
No luck. I’m already on the latest app version and no firmware update is available. I wonder if connecting to AP mode might help. Has anyone manually updated the firmware that way?
