I have sensors from the Smart Things integration telling me the energy consumption of our air conditioners, and have created another one to give me the total kWh of all of them combined. The energy part has not been installed long - just within the current month. The readings are cumulative from when the inputs were first received - at least so far.
I would like to see if it is possible to take this data and convert to daily and ultimately monthly totals.
If it helps, I do have InfluxDB and Grafana installed, but honestly no idea how to use them yet - although I do have those energy totals in the InfluxDB database. Maybe these are not required, but just in case…
I am still very new to all of this, so will need examples of suggested code if you can help. I guess it maybe involves creating new sensors, but please feel free to tell me I am wrong.
I am using utility meters. You can set them up in the GUI with the Helpers tab in Settings > Devices
That might be the simplest pieces of advice I have had so far.
I guess I have to wait a couple of days to see what it shows me, but thank you so much.
You can set one to ‘hour’ and find out how it looks
EDIT: you can then have graphs like this (very simple one)
