I will be getting a couple of Dana Locks with the numeric keypad (actually Ultion Smart Locks, But they are Dana Locks underneath the skin)
The question of Zigbee or Zwave has been asked before, but most replies always seem to come up with issues with either of them.
I am reasonably agnostic about which protocol, although I have more experience with Zwave, I have Zigbee running ZHA on a ConBee, and Zwave on an Aeotec which will be migrated to Zwave JS soon. I intend to try and avoid the additional MQTT layer.
I have mains powered devices (repeaters) within a couple of metres of the locks for both protocols.
My main use-cases at the moment would be:
Automations triggered by failed Lock commands (The doors are lift-to-latch so this scenario is likely to be quite common).
Automations triggered by the use of specific keypad codes
Automations to Lock and Unlock.
In view of these requirements I would be grateful for recommendations of whether to go for Zwave or Zigbee
