Hello, have you been able to find anything?
I am also exploring z-wave Danalocks. More specifically, I am interested in this device: DANALOCK V2 BTZU
http://shop.danalock.com/products/6-poly-lock-cylinder/40-danalock-v2-btzu--battery/
Nope, found that the reviews for the danalock was too bad to buy it.
Purchased a Yale Doorman with Verisure module instead and got it connected to HA.
Thanks! Unfortunately, it looks like Yale Doorman is not available in the US.
I’ve got a Danalock. I got it paired via Z-Wave with Home Assistant and it is shown in the Webinterface, but it cannot be locked or unlocked.
Unfortunately i’ve very little time to investigate why it is not working.
It is using Z-Wave SECURE profiles and you have to set a key for that in the configuration files…
P.S. The Bluetooth interface is very buggy with Android phone. At the moment the Danalock is quite useless for me.
I know you have it paired and you have a key set in the options.xml, but did you actually add it using the “Secure Add” option in OZWCP?
The reason I ask is that is what happens with locks that are not added securely. They show up in Home Assistant, but you can not lock or unlock them.
OZWCP is the only way to add secure devices. You can not do it with Home Assistant using the zwave add node or even with something like the Z-Stick Gen5 directly. Setting the key in the the openzwave options.xml is not enough, you also must add it with the “Secure Add” feature of OZWCP.
Thanks for this information! I was assuming that HA handles it. The only other Z-Wave device is a
devolo Home Control door sensor (with light and temperature) which supports SECURE and non SECURE communication.
I’ll give OZWCP a try to pair the Danalock with SECURE this evening after work and publish my findings here.
It’s working after pairing it with OZWCP with “Add Secure”. Took some time till it showed up. I am not sure if it just took some time or a restart was needed.
If it shows up and the lock does not turn you need to remove the device and pair it again.
Thinking of buying a Danalock, you who have it run for a while dose it works well? Or should I look at a Yale Doorman insted?
I have no experience with the Danalock else than all the bad reviews you’ll find.
But I do have a experience with Yale Doorman since I have had one for about 6 months with Verisure module connected to HA. By now I have not experienced any problems with my Yale Doorman, it works great. It is nice to have the option to both unlock the door with pincode and the RFID tag.
I have a Danalock and it works PERFECTLY! As already mentioned before u MUST pair it in secure mode. THen you are ready to go
Hi @emilhetty,
I’m thinking on buying a Doorman lock as well, but don’t still completely understand how it can be integrated to HA and what can be done with it once it is integrated.
Could you elaborate a bit about your setup? You have a Doorman lock and Verisure module for it, I suppose? But do you also have a Verisure central unit (Vbox mini etc.) or can the lock be integrated directly to HA running e.g. on Raspberry Pi?
Thanks in advance!
Hi, I’m testing HA with danalock. It is added under secure mode in OCZP. It locks and unlock perfectly when in OZCP but doesn’t respond when in HA… Did you have any special config in your yaml?
Similar problem, although, I cannot get it to respond to anything even in ozwcp. Seems to pair fine, but is then unresponsive to any edits to states in the control panel. Tried to load it in home assistant anyway just in case, and it doesn’t work there either.
The only thing I haven’t tried yet is rebooting my pi. That always seems to solve problems
I thought that maybe it doesn’t work because I missed the step here of adding a network key in the options.xml.
But after doing this nothing changed. I can see the “Info, NONCES” in the log, but this was the case even when I did not have a network key set. So, at the moment still stuck on how to integrate the Danalock (V2 BTZE).
Rebooting, by the way, did not help either
I’ve done the options.xml. In ozwcp, I can pair the danalock in secure mode and control it perfectly well. When i shut down ozwcp and start home assistant again, the danalock appeared. However when I click on the lock in HA, nothing happen… I believe HA is using the openzwave underneath it, so was puzzled why it didn’t work in HA.
Yes, that seems like a strange problem to have. Consider that HA calls the service like lock.unlock
, perhaps openzwave is not translating it to the danalock parameter correctly. You could try something else like homeassistant.turn_on
, perhaps with an automation and see what happens? Otherwise sounds like a case for a bug report for HA.
I’ve realised that openzwave is actually throwing an error for me about the network key, it seems unable to load it. I have 16 2-digit hex numbers, in the format 0x00, 0xD3, …

2017-03-09 21:26:11.492 Warning, Failed - Network Key Not Set
Is there more than one options.xml? Do I need to move my file somewhere?
I am curious if anyone managed to get their Danalock v2 to work smoothly in HA. This device is on my wishlist.
Alternatively, any other locks that work great with HA? European type, not USA deadbolts.
Danalock works perfekt with z-wave and HA, I have used it for more then a year with out problems.
